In particular we are looking at reducing, reusing and recycling our waste. Below you can seel all the reasons why we thought that the earth rocked.

In the last week of term we were lucky enough to have a hockey session from a lady from Nelson Hockey. She taught us all how to hold a hockey stick correctly. We then had lots of fun learning to dribble and juggle a hockey ball using the hockey stick.

Big Buddies

Every second Friday we meet up with our Big Buddies from Room 6. They are year 3 and 4 students. We do lots of fun things with them like crafts, playing boardgames and playing on the adventure playground. Last year we even had a newspaper dress up competition. Many of us like to find and play with our big buddies at lunch times too.

Fantastic Faces!

This term in art with Caroline we have been focusing on painting and drawing. Check out our awesome self-portraits below which we drew using pastels!

ICT Headshots

This term as part of I.C.T we have been learning how to use the digital camera to take headshots. Check out our photos below.

Harold comes to visit!

This week we were all very excited when Helen and Harold from Life Education came to Central School. We got to go and visit them in their bus. On Thursday Helen taught us all about where our heart, lungs and muscles are and on Friday she taught us all about keeping healthy by exercising with our friends. We all got to choose one of Harold's animal friends to exercise with.

Responsibilities!

During this term we have been investigating the different responsibilities that people have at Central School. We came up with lots of great questions for people like the librarian, caretaker and principal. As part of our inquiry we also talked about all the different ways that we can communicate with people. We came up with lots of great ideas such as interviews, writing letters and e-mails and even skyping! So this week Sally arranged for us to interview Mr Potaka over skype. Sally put it up on the projector so we could all see what was going on.
